You took the plunge and booked your cruise! Now you are Googling what to pack for your cruise? Here is Live Beyond The Click's guide to packing for a cruise.
- This obvious passport or birth certificate.
Trust me you are not boarding the cruise without one of these. I would grab a file folder and put it in there. Go ahead and print your boarding pass too. - Carry-on. It takes a bit for your luggage to get delivered to your room. If you are like me and cannot wait to get to the pool for some sun. Pack a carry-on with your swimsuit and a coverup.
- Sundresses. These serve a dual purpose you can wake up with a hangover and wear it to breakfast and you can wear it during the days you are out at sea. I would suggest two or three.
- Shorts & Tanks - You are going to want to be comfortable when you get off the ship for the day. I always wear shorts & a tank. Then I have my carry-on with my swimsuit and coverup.
- Biker Shorts - Ladies heat rash isn't a joke! Bring biker shorts to wear when you get off the ship for the day.
- Bathing Suits - Bring two or maybe three swimsuits. You want to be comfortable and no one likes putting on a wet suit.
- Formal Night - Bring a pretty dress for formal night. When do you get the chance to dress up?
- Theme Night - Most cruises have a theme night. My most recent one was 80's night. It is super fun and you will not be the only one dressed up.
- Little Black Dress - The little black dress never fails you. Where it to dinner.
- Shoes - Wedges for formal night and any other time you feel like looking fancy. I wouldn't suggest heals. Bring flip-flops this is what you are going to live in, and then if you like to work out bring tennis shoes.
Additional Things To Consider Packing - The straws on Carnival cruises are yucky! Save a dolphin and bring a reusable straw. Tanning oil and sunblock, the markup on a cruise are double or more. Lanyards to help keep track of your sail card. You can get free lanyards in the cruise casino. Poo-Pourri ladies you are going to get the beer shits, the cabins are small, this is a must.
Don't forget the essentials: Your chargers for your phone & camera. A light jacket just in case you get cold. Motion sickness patches if you suffer and allergy pills.
Last Thing: Door Decorations. All the doors look the same. I just bring a magnetic hook and a cute beach sign from Dollar Tree. Some people go all out. It's your call but I highly suggest this.
